Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS is) a disease caused by complex, heterogeneous disorders, whose pathogen is still undetermined. They are multifaceted as genetic and environmental factors emerge. The purpose of the study was to know the nature of the descriptive and quantitative Dermatoglyphics of PCOS patients for the purpose of early detection of
women who may develop the syndrome through the possibility of identifying the nature of their Dermatoglyphics. The study included 75 women with PCOS and 75 healthy women selected from Al Azizia General Hospital in Wasit Governorate for the period from 1/8/2015 to 1/12/2015. The results of the descriptive analysis of fingerprint patterns showed an increase in
the percentage of argument with a decrease in the proportion of Arches and whorls in patients with the syndrome compared with the control group, as well as an increase in the proportion of the odd ratio (O.R) for the radial loop. While a high density index was found in healthy women compared to those with PCOS. Quantitative analysis of Dermatoglyphics showed a significant increase in the mean number of total lines and the average absolute number of lines in both fingers of the patients with the syndrome compared with the control group.
